03 — Be one

Never had one? Be one.

It’s rarely a big moment. It’s the small stuff people thank their one for — and you can do any of it tomorrow.

01
Sit with them.
At lunch, on the bus, at the back of class.
02
Say something.
“That’s not okay” is enough. Out loud, or after.
03
Check in later.
One message that night counts.
04
Tell someone.
A teacher, a parent, a coach. Telling isn’t dobbing.

04 — Who we are

We were bullied so badly we nearly dropped out.

We’re two high school friends, Ron Prasad and Gus Nehme. What we went through at school is the reason we started the Beat Bullying With Confidence Foundation, a charity in Melbourne in 2014.

We fully understand what bullied kids go through. Everything we do comes from real-life experience.

Ron has a Diploma of Counselling and a Certificate IV in Coaching, and is a certified personal development coach.

For parents · By Ron Prasad

3 top tips if your child is being bullied.

Your child comes home and tells you they’ve been bullied. Your mind races. Your only concern is their welfare. Here’s how to be the most help.

1
Let your child talk
This is about them, not you. Listen with empathy, validate what they say, and don’t interrupt. Stay calm — and thank them for telling you. Many kids keep it all to themselves.
2
Focus on solutions
Put your energy into two things: stopping the bullying, and helping your child recover from it. This isn’t a time for blame. Remind them you’ll work it out together.
3
Protect their self-esteem
The most important one. Tell them you love them, and that it’s not their fault. They should feel loved and understood — never criticised or judged.
09 — Support us

Be one for a whole school.

We’re small and mostly self-funded. When a school can’t afford a talk, we give it anyway — gifts like yours are how.
